The C1 or first generation Corvette came to the end it its model run in 1962. During that 9 year time span, the car when through many changes and refinements. Starting out as a bare-bones (it didn’t even have roll up windows!), Roadster back in ’53, powered by a straight 6-cyl engine backed up by a two speed Powerglide automatic to a much more refined sports car Convertible with 4 available small block V-8’s and three transmission choices as well as options such as a power windows, power soft top and AM signal-seeking radio. By the time the ’62’s were introduced, the engine size had grown to 327ci and hp was up to 360 in fuel injected form. The solid axle Corvette had truly come into its own!
This C1 has recently undergone a frame-on restoration with beautiful paint and excellent interior. It’s a hard top only and features a rebuilt small block dressed up with an With new brakes, gas tank, fuel lines, Be-Cool radiator, 15 x 5.5″ wheels w/dog dish hub caps and undercarriage detailed, it is ready for showing or driving. It looks sharp and runs great!
