Corvette Drivers Series Special Edition

While everybody waits for the C8 mid-engine Corvette, Chevrolet decided to do some special edition C7 Corvettes. To be exact, 4 new Drivers Series versions, one to commemorate each Corvette Racing driver.

Based on the already excellent Corvette Grand Sport, each edition carries the name of a specific Corvette Racing driver and their unique style.

The Tommy Milner Edition sports blue paint, silver stripes, red hash marks, red brake calipers and black wheels. It has a black interior with red seat belts.

The Oliver Gavin Edition is done in gray paint, a red center stripe and hash marks, carbon-fiber mirrors and black wheels with a red stripe and red brake [...]

Early results are in for this year’s Arizona Auction Week, and the classic car market is strong. There is still some after auction deals working, but so far $254 Million has changed hands.

Here are the numbers per auction:

Barrett-Jackson achieved a stunning $131.6m, selling around 1,800 cars. The top-selling car was a 2019 Ford GT Heritage Edition coupe, VIN 001, selling for $2.5m to benefit the United Way for Southeastern Michigan.

Gooding & Company sold over $48.2m with a 1963 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta fetching $7.595m.

RM Sotheby’s sold about $37m with 131 cars changing hands. A 2,900-mile 1985 Ferrari 288 GTO sold for $3.36m and a 1948 Tucker 48 sedan sold for $1.6m.

Bonhams sold around $16.1m what a 1951 Maserati A6G/2000 Spider selling for $2.755m.

There was a rumor that the C8 Mid-Engined Corvette would be shown at a private event on the 14th of this month, but that date has come and gone. Even though GM is still being very secretive about the C8, the people over at CarScoops.com have been able to get, and just release, a picture of what is supposed to be the interior of the new 2020 C8 Mid-Engined Corvette!

The picture shows a very modern interior with a twin-spoked leather and chrome steering wheel featuring a new Corvette logo at its center. There is also a row of climate controls and buttons for the heated and ventilated seats on the passenger side of the center console.  The center console itself holds buttons for the automatic transmission and shortcut buttons for the Infotainment system.
