Quality Used Corvettes for Sale for over 35 years!

Want to race at Le Mans (6/17/17), but you don’t want to be just another car out of 60? What do you do? Everybody has fancy paint jobs, so that will not help. You cannot use flashing lights, as that is against the rules. You think long a hard and then it hits you, Glow In The Dark Paint!

The French race team, Larbre Competition, had the same thought for the No. 50 Chevrolet Corvette C7.R it plans to enter in the 2017 24 Hours of Le Mans. Created by French artist Ramzi Adek, the Corvette will be entered in the GTE Am class for production-based cars and amateur drivers. If you don’t see it during the daytime, just wait for the sun to set.

Sonny Dixon was out for a nice Sunday drive in Charlotte, North Carolina, in his C4 Corvette when a blinding storm rolled in with rain so hard he couldn’t see the nose of his car. As bad as that sounds, what happened next was even worse, a tree came crashing down on the center of his Corvette, right where he was sitting.

This was not some small tree, but one weighing tons. The Corvette did its job, protecting the occupants, and keeping the tree from crushing its driver. The doors actually held the weight of the falling tree!

The fire department was able to pull Dixon out of the back window and off to the hospital where he received 22 stiches and released.

When you go to test drive a car, there is a general understanding you might give the car a little gas, but you’re not gonna go crazy. After all, you are not the current owner of the car, and thus there is a common courtesy to return each vehicle you test in good condition. Apparently guy in the video below didn’t get the memo; as you can see, he completely totals a Porsche 911 Turbo during what was purportedly a test drive.

As you can see via the CCTV, the Porsche in question goes into a corner at a high rate of speed and begins to brake, causing the back end to kick out. In doing so, the Porsche travels into the opposite lane and collides with an oncoming car. The collision caused the Porsche to do a 180-degree spin, eventually coming to a rest around 50 yards later. Due to the extreme amount [...]

There’ll be dozens of cars competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans this summer, racing in and out of the night around the clock. So how do you make one Corvette in the lowest racing class stand out among the competition?

Larbre Competition intends to stand apart from the speeding crowd with this special C7.R art car, decked out in a special glow-in-the-dark livery.

Revealed at the Circuit de la Sarthe during this past weekend’s official test session, the #50 Corvette features a graffiti-style paintjob designed by street artist Ramzi Adek. The finished product looks unique, to say the least, and is strikingly different from the usual yellow paint these competition Corvettes usually wear.

Christian Philippon, Romain Brandela, and Fernando Rees will share driving duties in the LMGTE Am category in the race that’s set to kick off less than two weeks from now. If precedent is anything to go by, they stand a [...]
