Silver/Blue w/Dk. Blue interior, 350/190hp, automatic transmission.
The second to the last. Last C3, that is. The ’81 Corvette was interesting in a number of ways. It was the only Corvette to be simultaneously built at two separte plants; St. Louis and Bowling Green. For the most part, single color cars were built in St. Louis and two-tone cars were built at Bowling Green (although there were some two-tone pilot cars built at St. Louis to test the system). This was also the only year (other than ’53 & ’54) that one engine was offered. This was the L81 350CI small block. It was also the last year your could get an actual 4-spd. manual transmission in a Corvette.
This very nice example came to us from a local, So. CA. client who purchased the car brand new back in ’81! It’s been nicely maintained over the decades with an engine rebuild done a few years back. The car starts right up, idles nicely and runs very well.
