From Corvette Blogger:

The reveal of the 2025 Corvette ZR1, scheduled since April, is set for July 25, 2024, at 7:30 PM ET, according to a recent social media post from Chevrolet.

Although the announcement did not include direct links, it is anticipated that the reveal will be streamed on YouTube from Chevrolet’s channel. A quick check of the channel this afternoon did not show any scheduled events yet.

Additionally, it has been reported that the Corvette Assembly Plant will pause production on Thursday night to allow workers to attend an all-hands meeting to watch the reveal live. A similar meeting is planned for Friday morning so the first shift workers can also view a replay of the event.

Stay tuned for more updates as we eagerly await the details of America’s next supercar!

I am 69 years old. In 2018, my wife of 25 years passed away from a 2 year battle with Pancreatic Cancer. I always wanted a Corvette, but she had no interest in having one.

About a week before she passed, when we knew the end was near, she could barely speak. She pulled me close to her and said “When I am gone, please get your Corvette”.

After a 12 month search, I was able to find what I was looking for, a 2005 Convertible 6spM with Z51 package. It had only 24k miles and the price was right. When I signed the papers, tears started pouring from my eyes, thanking her for her blessing this.

Since that time, I have become active in Corvette Annapolis, and this past year was elected to the presidency.

I love my car, and could not believe it took me this long to obtain one.

1968 JAMES GARNER L88 RACECAR

On this 10th anniversary of James Garner’s passing, we honor his legacy by showcasing his most raced and acclaimed 1968 L88 race car, presented in its original livery!

Blue w/White Stripes, Black Interior. L88 427/500+hp, 4-Speed Manual!

James Garner’s American International Racing (AIR) team made history not just by fielding three L88 Corvettes under one banner, but also by having Garner, a Hollywood star and car enthusiast, at the helm. The AIR #44 car is a time capsule from the late 1960s racing scene, symbolizing the era’s engineering and competition spirit.

In November 1967, three factory-built L88 Corvettes left the St. Louis plant for Garner’s AIR team. These Le Mans Blue convertibles were among the first with the new L88 engine and were part of GM’s controlled release to select customers. The cars were picked up from Gene Jantzen Chevrolet and driven to California by notable drivers, including Dick Guldstrand.

Once in California, the engines were prepared by TRACO for racing. At Daytona, the AIR cars out-qualified all other entries in their class, although mechanical issues prevented them from maintaining this pace during the race.

After Daytona, the AIR team shifted focus and the Corvettes were sold. The #44 car was bought by ex-fighter pilot Gerry Gregory and later changed hands several times, undergoing various modifications and racing in numerous events. In the 1990s, it was meticulously restored by Jim Herlinger and continued to participate in historic racing events.

The AIR team itself was born from an idea by Bob Bondurant and involved key figures like Garner and Guldstrand. Garner’s interest in racing was sparked during the filming of the movie “Grand Prix,” leading to the formation of the AIR team and their ambitious racing ventures.

The full story of Garner’s AIR team and the #44 car offers a fascinating glimpse into a unique chapter of automotive and racing history.

On this 10th anniversary of James Garner’s passing, we honor his legacy by showcasing his most raced and acclaimed 1968 L88 race car, presented in its original livery.

Silverstone Silver w/Black Interior, 427/500+hp, 4-Speed Manual!

Add to the equation the factory documentation, which includes Window Sticker and Protect-O-Plate, P.D.I., original title, C.C.A.S. engine pad, and Trim Tag certification, featured magazine articles, and you’ve got an ultra-collectible Corvette that was at the pinnacle of performance, in the era of the muscle car wars!
