This extended break marks one of the longest holiday temporary production pauses in Corvette history, though GM has not confirmed a specific reason. Possible explanations include managing production levels, implementing line improvements, or conducting maintenance.

Z06 vs ZR1

Credit::Jason Fenske – Engineering Explained

In 2025, the Corvette world buzzed with debates over two incredible engines for the Z06 and ZR1. Both were built for speed but with distinct personalities. The Z06’s naturally aspirated 5.5L flat-plane crank V8, known as the LT6, delivered 670 horsepower and screamed to an 8,600 RPM redline. It was all about precision and control, perfect for purists who loved a high-revving machine.

Then came the ZR1, packing the twin-turbocharged LT7 engine. With over 1,064 horsepower, it turned the Z06’s finesse into pure, unrelenting force. The ZR1 was built for raw power, designed to pin you to your seat under incredible acceleration.

Jay Leno recently got an up-close look at Chevrolet’s new C8-generation Corvette ZR1 on Jay Leno’s Garage. Leno, a legendary figure in the automotive world, was joined by GM President Mark Reuss to explore the ZR1’s incredible capabilities.

The new ZR1 boasts a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 engine, delivering a jaw-dropping 1,064 horsepower. Leno, visibly impressed, noted that achieving similar performance from a European sports car would cost millions.

Reuss added that while the ZR1’s price isn’t set yet, it will stay true to Corvette’s tradition of being both aspirational and attainable.

All Electric Corvette
Will the Corvette go fully electric? Not yet, according to Corvette Chief Engineer Tony Roma and CEO Mary Barra. Chevy isn’t interested in electrifying the Corvette just to follow trends. As Roma told CBS News, “We don’t put technology on for technology’s sake.” Any move toward an electric Corvette would only happen if it truly enhances power, performance, and driving experience—or if customers demand it, which isn’t the case right now.

Mary Barra reinforced this, saying Chevrolet will be “guided by the consumer” on the Corvette’s future. While Chevy aims for an all-electric lineup by 2035, they won’t rush to compromise the Corvette’s spirit.

In the meantime, Chevy is preparing to unleash the hybrid Corvette Zora, expected as early as next year. With rumors of 1,200 horsepower, it could be the most powerful Corvette ever. While an all-electric version isn’t here yet, Chevy’s hybrid innovations show they’re [...]
