1965 Rally Red L79 Corvette Convertible
Rally Red 1965 Corvette Convertible w/White interior, L79 327/350hp, 4-spd. manual transmission.
Mid-Year Corvette’s tend to attract a lot of attention when they’re out on the road. The design is simply timeless and even if you’re not a “car person”, anyone would appreciate the beauty of one of these classics. But, even in the realm of second generation Corvette’s, there are stand-out’s. And one of them is the car presented here.
They say, “all Corvettes are Red”. Well, not really. But, this one most certainly is! Rally Red to be exact. But, where most would expect to see a Red Corvette on a regular basis, what you wouldn’t regularly see is one with White leather interior!
Striking would be a word that comes to mind upon viewing this ’65 in person. Beautiful, dazzling and graceful would be a few others. All apt descriptions for a car that is significant to both the Corvette hobby and Corvette Mike, as well!
Originally sold new out of Starksen Chevrolet in Lancaster CA., this is truly a CA. car as its spent its life here. That’s always a plus when it comes to the longevity of any car. It’s spent its life in collector hands since. But, even well cared for West Coast Corvette’s need sprucing up from time to time. This one was no exception. So, during its lifetime a restoration was performed. And all that hard work was rewarded with multiple N.C.R.S. Top Flights on the way to the ultimate prize . . . A Zora Arkus-Duntov Mark of Excellence Award!
Options include; L79 350hp small block engine, M20 4-spd. manual transmission, power brakes, power steering (added), tinted windshield, both hard and soft tops, 3.55 Positraction rear end, C & C Group, whitewall (currently radial) tires, and to top it off . . . factory air conditioning! Making this not only beautiful, but RARE! Documentation includes the original, framed Window Sticker, all the Top Flight Awards and judging sheets.
Oh, and one more thing. There is a sentimental attachment that Corvette Mike has for this particular ’65. It was the 158th car Mike ever sold way back in ’83! We even still have the original sales jacket and contract!
