Corvette Mike Showroom
1962 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Roman Red
Roman Red w/Black interior, 327/340hp, 4-spd manual transmission.
The '62 marked the end of first generation Corvette production. Over the 11 years C1's rolled off the St. Louis assembly line, a lot of changes had occurred. Corvette went from being a no-frills Roadster with side curtains in place of roll-up windows to a relatively sophisticated sports car by '62.
This '62 was originally sold new at Byrne Bros. Chevrolet in upstate NY. The owner was in the military and at some point was transferred overseas. The car sat for 17 years until it was sold to a restoration shop. It was then frame-on restored and it's #'s matching engine rebuilt. And a short time later sold to Corvette Mike in '94. We then sold it to the current owner. After caring for the car for over 20 years and a little over 10k miles, he decided it was time to pass her on the next caretaker, so here she is. We always like to have cars we've sold back, especially ones that have been so well cared for like this one. Options include the 327/340hp engine, 4-spd transmission, Posi rear end, both hard and soft tops, Wonderbar radio and correct bias ply whitewall tires. Included in the sale is a binder with receipts, before and after photos of the restoration, Owner's Kit and original Dealer Invoice! Stk #5906
