The Ferrari 328 was the successor to the Ferrari 308. While mechanically still based on the 308, small modifications were made to the body style and engine, most notably an increase in engine displacement to 3.2 L for increased power and torque output. 7,400 Ferrari 328s were produced by the time the model was replaced by the new 348 in 1989, bringing the total for the 308/328 generation to nearly 20,000. The 328 is considered by some Ferrari enthusiasts to be one of the most reliable Ferrari’s, unlike some models, most engine maintenance can be performed without lowering the engine from the vehicle. Thus, making it one of the first “user friendly” Ferrari’s.

It was a Sunday afternoon drive that Sam Schmidt will not soon forget.
And that was before the rain and snow and hail.
Two weeks after Schmidt drove to the summit of Pikes Peak during a practice run in a specially equipped Corvette, the quadriplegic IndyCar team owner from Henderson attempted to do it on race day at the 94th running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
Schmidt and co-pilot Robby Unser, a nine-time winner of the Hill Climb, were last up the mountain Sunday. They made it about halfway to the summit before Mother Nature intervened.
Rain, snow and hail are formidable obstacles for even the most able-bodied of racecar drivers to deal with during the Race to the Clouds. The annual Hill Climb is contested on a 12.42-mile course featuring 156 turns and few guardrails.
