It was the autumn of 1969, rustling leaves fell lazily from the trees, signaling the end of summer—and what a summer it was in the small town of Everett, Massachusetts; a tiny suburb of Boston. Back then, jobs were plentiful for a teenager. Pumping gas was an easy score, especially when your dad was the one on the books. I just helped out for 50 cents an hour. Little did I know that pumping gas and smelling like it would change my life forever!
Larry Shinoda, designer of the second generation Corvette, is mostly to blame for what happened next. My first long stare at his iconic “stingray” design burned images onto my internal hard drive decades before such terms came into vogue. That’s the day lightning struck and a slow IV drip of Sunoco 103 changed the chemistry and PH in my platelets forever!
[...]In the good old days of the muscle cars, Chevrolet offered many of their cars with the SS package as an option. The SS, or Super Sport, option was available on muscle cars like the Camaro, Chevelle, Impala and Nova for that extra sporty look and ride.

As the SS’s of the past, this new SS may not be here for long, as GM has only stated that they will produce them through 2017 with no successor planned. Who knows, this may be the next collector car from GM. We will see in 40 years.
A walk back in time!!! This 1956 high Fin SR2 (Sebring Racer) has always been a dream car of Corvette Collectors worldwide. Way out of the price range of your typical Corvette owner/buyer, this car was Chevrolet’s answer to the racing European cars eating up the tracks stateside and abroad. Conceived and built under the direction of Harley Earl himself for his son Jerome to race. This is perhaps the most valuable Corvette you will ever see firsthand and also to ever leave the GM stable. Auction houses speculate that a car like this, in the right venue, under the right conditions and with two or more passionate pursuers, could lift the canvas off the tent. But until that happens, no one really knows for sure how many millions it will take!!!! Anyway, my buddy Frank and I produced this video to take a walk back in time. Enjoy it and LIKE it if you [...]
