‘Twas the night before Christmas and out in the garage,

There wasn’t a trace of a Honda, a Toyota or even a Dodge.

The presents were wrapped and the lights were all lit,

So I figured I’d mess with my Corvette for a bit.

I popped the release and I lifted the hood,

When a deep voice behind me said “looks pretty good.”

From ESPN News/Associated Press:

Corvette_DaytonaDAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Corvette Racing unveiled the new 2012 Daytona prototype on Tuesday at Daytona International Speedway.

It’s the first Daytona prototype body built by a manufacturer. Its first test will be Wednesday at Daytona.

The Corvette DP will have four teams next season — Bob Stallings Racing; Wayne Taylor Racing; Sprit of Daytona Racing and Action Express Racing.

The car will make its racing debut in the 50th anniversary of the GRAND-Am Rolex 24 at Daytona in January.

Jim Campbell of Chevrolet says sports cars and endurance racing is the perfect platform for manufacturers to develop cars. The new car incorporates Corvette styling cues and is recognizable to sports car enthusiasts.

RCMP Sgt. Jason Keays told the Prince George Citizen the 21-year-old jumped into the idling Corvette just as the owner was putting away a charger used to revive the sports car’s dead battery.

The owner watched in disbelief as the thief rolled up the power windows, locked the power doors — and promptly stalled the vehicle while trying to back out of the driveway.
