Corvette Mike is proud to present one of the most iconic race-bred Corvettes ever built — the 1968 Le Mans Blue L88 Convertible once campaigned by James Garner’s American International Racing (AIR) team.
This isn’t just a Corvette — it’s a rare piece of motorsports and Hollywood history. One of just three factory-built L88 convertibles delivered in November 1967 for Garner’s team, this car was specially ordered through GM’s COPO program and features the legendary L88 engine with closed-chamber aluminum heads.
From the silver screen to the racetrack, this Corvette captures the fearless spirit of late-1960s American performance.

Floyd and JoAnn N.’s 2002 convertible
We bought our beautiful 98 drop top in 2002 when our daughter graduated from college and our tuition obligation was over. In 2019 we sold our Illinois home of 40 years and moved to Tucson Az knowing the move would not be complete until the transport arrived with our Corvette. With lots of open and mountain roads here there is shortage of interesting and fun road trips. There is nothing that gets my blood pumping more than popping in a Sinatra/Count Basie CD (maybe a Bob Seger CD too) dropping the top and setting off to who knows where with JoAnn my co-pilot of 48 wonderful years. We get offers on our beauty but it’s not for sale. When the time is right it will get back on that transport truck this time headed to our son in Florida for him and his family to grow old enjoying it as we have.

The ’67 L71 427/435hp Convertible is still considered the “King of the Hill” by most Corvette aficionados. But within this category, there is still a standout. And that would be a ’67 L71 Convertible in Tuxedo Black! Black was always the rarest color, but in this configuration, it’s REALY RARE!! Not to mention extremely desirable and very collectible!
Built on 9/16/66, this early, matching #’s engine example, has been completely and correctly photo-documented frame-off restored, and is a Bloomington Gold Award winner. It is optioned with the very rare factory side exhaust, shoulder harnesses, Rally wheels wrapped in Red Line tires and is documented with the original Tank Sticker, N.C.R.S. Tank Sticker Validation and Shiping Data Report, old inspection certs dating back to the ’70’s and more.
