Where has the first half of 2018 gone? In just two weeks the Bloomington Gold show will open to the public. Started in 1973, Bloomington Gold Corvettes USA is the longest running all Corvette event in the country and is attended by well over 30,000 people each year.
A 2019 Chevy Corvette ZR1 pace car crash led to a 27-minute delay of the 2018 Detroit Grand Prix on Belle Isle. General Motors executive vice president of global product development Mark Reuss was behind the wheel. Both the driver and passenger Mark Sand, an IndyCar official, were unharmed and exited the vehicle after the incident.
“We are thankful that there were no serious injuries. Both the pace car driver and the series official were taken to the infield care center, where they were checked, cleared and released,” according to a statement from General Motors. “It is unfortunate that this incident happened. Many factors contributed, including weather and track conditions. The car’s safety systems performed as expected.”
Will Power, winner of this year’s Indy 500, said after the race, “I felt really bad for whoever was in the pace car. It’s very easy to do, and the traction control must have been turned off.

This year, for the first time ever, Citroën will grace the 18th fairway as a featured marque at the 2018 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 26th. The Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance
poster, painted by Barry Rowe, commemorates this historic moment.

technology and design,” said Concours Chairman Sandra Button.
The 4th person to walk on the moon, and renowned Corvette enthusiast, Alan Bean has passed at age 86.
Bean was the lunar module pilot for the 2nd moon landing on November 1969; the Apollo 12 mission. During this mission, he and mission commander Pete Conrad explored on the lunar Ocean of Storms and set up several experiments.
Also, in 1969, Chevrolet began a special lease program for astronauts which Bean, along with 12 other astronauts, took advantage of and ordered their very own 1969 C3 Corvette [...]
After selling their early C3, the owner loaded it up on an open trailer to deliver it to the new owner. But something went drastically wrong on the way.
While driving south on Interstate 75, in Harrison Township, Ohio, the pickup truck they were using to tow the Corvette started weaving and then Jackknifed!
