The organizers of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance announced the unveiling of the 2017 posters.
“We’re excited to unveil the posters for the 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, as well as the Tour d’Elegance and RetroAuto. Ferrari celebrates its 70th Anniversary at Pebble Beach this year, so not one but two of our posters feature prancing horses. The third poster focuses on our prewar featured marque, Isotta Fraschini. Below we share the history of the magnificent automobiles that our talented artists have depicted. We thank Barry Rowe & Tim Layzell for their fantastic work.”

The Corvette plant closes tomorrow for 13 plus weeks. The closure is for plant upgrades in preparation for manufacturing 2018 models. GM is spending nearly $500 million to finish construction of the paint shop and another $400 million for other changes/upgrades.
The 2018 corvette is getting some changes also. Aside from the upcoming ZR1 (still unofficial) and the Carbon 65, the Corvette Stingray gets an upgraded standard wheel package that sees standard 19-inchers up front and 20-inchers out back and an upgraded heads-up display. There are also five new wheel choices and several new exterior and interior colors. The Magnetic Ride Control adaptive suspension is now optional without having to get the Z51 performance package.
The Performance Data Recorder was also upgraded and will record info for individual wheel speeds, suspension movements, intake air and ambient air temperatures, and yaw rate.
The best change is an almost non-change. Both the Stingray and Z06’s base prices
Once each year in August, 200 of the most prized collector cars in the world roll onto what is often called the best finishing hole in golf—the famed 18th fairway of Pebble Beach Golf Links. Tire meets turf and transformation occurs: the stage is set for one of the most competitive events in the automotive world.
Originally a small social event paired with a road race through the pine and cypress forests of Pebble Beach, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance has grown into the top-ranking collector car competition in the world.
The Concours is not a contest of speed, but of elegance. Automobiles and motorcycles are judged for their historical accuracy, their technical merit and their style—and the best garner reward and recognition.

The internet has made it easy for people to get information quickly, but sometimes too quickly or unchecked.
Last Thursday, a Pennsylvania dealer selling, a 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, advertised it as once being owned by the famous NASCAR racer Dale Earnhardt Jr. Shortly after the ZR1 was posted, a tweet from Earnhardt himself said “buyer beware” and “Not my car. Never drove it. Never did it once spend a minute in my driveway.”
As soon as people read Earnhart Jr.’s tweet, and before the dealer could respond, the internet went crazy. The dealer was flooded with $1 offers, angry phone calls, and even death threats (we love our Corvette’s, but death threats is a bit over the top). eBay also got thousands of people flagging the listing as false, so eBay removed the listing and suspended the dealers account (pulling all the other cars they had listed in the process).
Once the dealer had [...]
