For those of you working this week, and checking your emails, we have some exciting news about a new motor GM is introducing in 2018. It is called the LT5. The LT5 may sound familiar, as it was also the name of the motor in the C4 ZR1’s.

We do not know much about the new LT5, but here is what we do know:
The new LT5 is slated for just the Corvette at this time. No sharing.
Both the old LT5 and the new LT5 are Dual Overhead Cam configuration.
The new LT5 is 6.2L vs. 5.7L in the C4’s.
The new LT5 is normally aspirated. No supercharger or turbos.
The new LT5 is Direct Injection vs. Multi-Point Fuel Injection.
The new TL5 has Variable Value Timing.

Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Announces
2017 Features and Special Classes
Entry Applications are Due on January 9

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (December 13, 2016) — The event itself is still months away, but the competition for a spot on the show field of the 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is already underway. The features and special classes have been announced, and applications have been mailed to prospective entrants. Applications are due back to the Concours office on January 9, and hopeful applicants can expect to learn their fate by April.

In the intervening weeks, every proposed car will be carefully vetted. The 15-member Selection Committee then meets to share research and compare and contrast possible groupings. Sometimes cars must be viewed in person or conflicting information resolved. Only then do formal invitations go out to the cars that have been allotted one of those much-desired spots on the famed 18th fairway of Pebble [...]
