In its last years of production, the Dodge Boys wanted an appropriate swan song for their legendary Viper. So, they tweaked the ACR with a big (!) carbon fiber wing and various other aero accoutrements. All of this amounts to the stickiest Viper ever with a 2000 pound downforce at 177mph! In addition, massive 19-inch Kumho Ecsta V720 (street) tires measur [...]
This past Thursday was the final day of Judging at the National NCRS Convention in Las Vegas. Both of our cars scored very well. The black 1963 340 split window did 98 points, enough to be awarded the Duntov Mark of Excellence! And the white 1967 435 big block Coupe did a whopping 99 points. The remainder of the cars were judged later in the day, and they even talked my wife, Kelly into judging! That afternoon we loaded them up to get ready for the awards banquet.
Getting ready at this week’s NCRS National Convention to start judging and discussing the details for the owners meeting.

Featured Corvette of the Week: 1967 Sunfire Yellow L88 Corvette Coupe
Two Time Bloomington Gold Winner! This is truly a significant piece of Corvette history and the absolute pinnacle of Corvette performance for decades to come!
A bit of L88 history . . . Any Corvette aficionado with more than a passing interest in Corvettes knows what RPO L88 stands for. Back in the un-restricted, fun loving ‘60’s, horsepower and cubic inches ruled. The Big Three were in an all-out street brawl (both literally and figuratively) to see who would be crowned King of the street and strip! Each were trying to build the ultimate big block. Ford had its Boss 429, Chrysler had it’s 426 Hemi. But if you really wanted to do some serious racing, and if you knew the secret word; you could walk into your local Chevy dealer in ’67, check RPO L88 on your order form and drive
1957 Black Ford Thunderbird Convertible Black w/White interior.
For 1957 Thunderbird, the front bumper was reshaped, the grille and tailfins were made larger, and larger tail-lights were fitted. The spare wheel moved back inside the trunk, which had been redesigned to allow it to be mounted vertically. The side “Thunderbird” script moved from the fins to the front fenders.
This beautiful example has been completely restored and features a rare 3-spd. manual transmission. It was repainted in Black with White interior, but was originally Bronze w/Bronze interior. Optioned with power steering and both hard and soft tops. It’s an excellent driver that goes down the road straight and smooth.

When the ’65 Corvette was introduced, it was a game-changer for two reasons. One was for going; the 396 big block engine. The other for slowing; 4-wheel disc brakes! Both of these items helped further propel Corvette onto world-class sports car status!
There were many engine options in ’65. In addition to the brand new 396ci big block, there were no less than 5 small blocks to choose from. A base 250hp all the way up to a 375hp solid lifter Fuelie!
But, the Silve [...]
