The Team at Corvette Mike would like to take this opportunity to wish you a safe and happy Independence Day holiday! 

We would also like to remember those who have served, or are currently serving in our Nation’s military.  This great Nation remains the home of the free because of the brave!

Do you know the name Sonora Smart Dodd? Well it is because of her, and Richard Nixon, that us Dad’s get our own holiday, officially called Father’s Day.

It all started in 1908, when the first official Mother’s Day was celebrated; Anna Reeves Jarvis of West Virginia is credited for the holiday. The next year, Sonora Smart Dodd, from Spokane, while attending a church service for Mother’s Day began to petition for a holiday for fathers, but received little support.

Soon others followed with people like famed Settlement House founder and social reformer Jane Addams, who tried to get a Father’s Day holiday going in Chicago. As did Harry C. Meek, a Lions Club member who tried to persuade presidents to go along with it. But despite their efforts, it just wouldn’t catch on.

Mike Grande fell in love with Corvettes as a young boy. His youthful interest in Corvettes grew with his age.

In 1981 Mike Grande bought his first Corvette for himself; a 1975 coupe $8,500. Soon after he started attending local Corvette shows on Sundays and meeting other enthusiasts, including many serious collectors who had stables of automobiles. His network of friends and acquaintances began to grow and soon they encouraged him to try making Corvettes a career. Way back in 1981, as General Motors moved the production of the Chevrolet Corvette from St. Louis, MO to 600 Corvette Drive, Bowling Green, KY., a young retired U.S. Marine, Mike Vietro, was readying to open “Corvette Mike”. That was 35 years ago, and just as the Corvette has survived the test of time by providing people a superior product at a great value, so has Corvette Mike.

Well, it is that time of year again when people and family get together to celebrate Thanksgiving and the Holiday Season.

Corvette Mike is holding two events this year to help the less fortunate, A food drive for Thanksgiving and a car show & toy drive for the holiday season.

The food drive will be held Saturday November 19th from 10:00 – 2:00. People are invited to bring non-perishable food items. We will also be holding a raffle for a basket of trinkets. Each ticket is $1 and will go to help feed people in need. There will be parking for anybody wanting to show off their car. If you cannot make it by our location, Neida or Ana will be happy to accept your monetary donations or to sell you raffle tickets over the phone.
