Corvette Assembly plant

Exciting changes may be on the horizon for the Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green, as recent reports suggest that production reconfiguration is in the works. Back in January Rick Corvette Conti talked to Corvette Blogger hinting that adjustments might be coming to prioritize widebody Corvette production, including the highly anticipated ZR1 and the rumored Grand Sport.

According to Rick, widebody models like the Z06 require more production time, slowing down the line compared to the base Stingray, which remains the most-produced Corvette model. To accommodate higher widebody demand, the plant is reportedly working on a new assembly line configuration that could streamline production. This will involve temporary plant shutdowns to reorganize workstations and increase efficiency for widebody builds.

Now Blogger has received confirmation from MidEngineCorvetteForum.com that the Bowling Green Assembly Plant will undergo four weeks of planned shutdowns:
     February 24 – February 28
     March 17 – March
