Corvette executive chief engineer Tadge Juechter told Motor1 that some customers have complained of overheating issues when pushing the Z06 to the limit on a track. The complaints are said to be limited to a few percent of the Z06 fleet, however engineers have nonetheless decided to address the heating concerns via mid-cycle updates.
The 2017 edition will be outfitted with a new hood featuring improved cooling vents, while a larger supercharger cover promises to further enhance heat dissipation.
Additional details will be released later this year, ahead of expected availability sometime in the fall.
It is unclear if the modifications will be available as a retrofit components for existing Z06 coupes and convertibles.
