George Maharis Dead at 94

George Maharis, a stage-trained actor became an icon to American youth in the 1960s as he cruised the country in a Corvette convertible in the hit television series “Route 66,” has died at age 94.

On “Route 66,” Maharis played Buz Murdock, a hardened survivor of New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen. His co-star Martin Milner, who died in 2015, was Tod Stiles, a young man raised in wealth who upon his father’s death was left with nothing but a shiny new Corvette.

The pair decided to travel the highway author John Steinbeck had dubbed “The Mother Road.” Each week brought a new adventure in a new city, and audiences tuned in in droves.

National Council of Corvette Clubs Reverses Ban on C8 E-Ray Hybrid.

The National Council of Corvette Clubs had banned all hybrids and EVs from competition. But now, the E-Ray will be allowed.

The National Council of Corvette Clubs (NCCC) came under fire from all corners of the internet when it was released that the hybridized Corvette E-Ray would be banned from competing or participating in its sponsored events and shows. Following a significant amount of backlash, NCCC has released a new statement acknowledging another adjusted rule set that allows the E-Ray to compete.

Even though the rule clearly states “Electric Vehicles/Hybrids using lithium type battery packs”, NCCC president Deb Murphy said that we all misunderstood the original
