Totals 53,785 Units
In 2023, the Corvette had quite the remarkable year. As per the National Corvette Museum, the Detroit-based automaker rolled out an impressive 53,785 units of this iconic model, coming incredibly close to breaking the all-time production record. The 1979 C3 still holds the top spot with 53,807 units assembled.
Out of the 53,785 2023 C8’s produced, 47,372 were the base C8, while the Z06 contributed 6,413 to this year’s production count. Interestingly, Chevrolet outdid itself by producing more Corvettes than Camaros in 2023!

The 2024 C8 Z06 continues the legacy set by its predecessors, the 2021 C8 and the C7 Corvette ZR1, both celebrated as Best Cars To Buy by Motor Authority.
At the heart of the Z06 is a remarkable engine that rivals those found in high-end Italian cars. But it’s not just the engine that steals the show; it’s the Z06’s exceptional performance and reasonable price that make it a standout. Even at just over $100,000, its performance, design, and powertrain arrangement make it an incredible deal.
This beast boasts a brand-new 5.5-liter flat-plane crank LT6 V-8, delivering an astounding 670 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. It’s a record-breaker, standing as the most potent naturally aspirated production V-8 ever produced.
But it’s not just about the numbers, the Z06’s distinctive roar and the way the engine revs up creates its unique

The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and the track-honed Ford GT faced off in a gripping drag race, courtesy of CarWow, pitting raw power against meticulous engineering. While not their prime playground, this showdown was riveting, initially favoring the Ford with its 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 generating 647 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque. In contrast, the Corvette Z06 boasts a roaring 5.5-liter flat-plane crank V8, churning out 670 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque.
Despite the GT’s weight advantage of roughly 150 lbs, and a torque boost from twin turbos, the Z06 took the lead from the start. Yet, the GT’s torque kicked in, barely securing victory with both cars clocking a quarter-mile time of 11.2 seconds, a win measured in minuscule time differences.
The rolling half-mile race from 50 mph was less forgiving for the GT due to turbo lag and some driver-related hiccups.
Despite facing weight and power limitations, the GTE-spec C8.R Corvette finished seventh in Bahrain, yet emerged victorious in the WEC team championship. The 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship for Corvette Racing culminated with an eight-hour race in Bahrain, following remarkable triumphs at Sebring, Portimao, Le Mans, and a second-place finish at Spa, securing the GTE Am driver and team titles by July 9 at Monza. The final Bahrain race had no bearing on the championship, but the team aimed for a strong finish nonetheless. The Corvette carried an extra 77 pounds due to its stellar season, accumulating weight penalties based on prior race performance. Additionally, a reduction in engine restrictor size lowered power output by about 10 horsepower, further challenging its performance, despite already competing with less horsepower than its GTE Am counterparts throughout the year.
