When you take delivery of a 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, you’ll want to be sure it makes all of the power that Chevy claims is on tap. For the record, that would be 755 horsepower and 715 pound-feet of torque. YouTuber StreetSpeed717 recently snagged what he claims is the fourth ZR1 off the Bowling Green assembly line and the first with a manual transmission. His first stop with his power-crazed coupe? A local race shop with its very own dyno.
Race Proven Motorsports of New Castle, Delaware, has performed work on a number of vehicles belonging to StreetSpeed717 (aka Mike). The crew has a camo-wrapped Z06 making ZR1-like numbers, but now Mike has the actual ZR1 as well. From the reports we have seen since the new 2019 ZR1 was officially announced, we know it was going to be fast, but not this fast. Car & Driver took a brand new, off the dealer’s lot, ZR1 to The Texas Mile to see what the performance gurus in Bowling Green had produced. The results are very impressive.

These are very impressive numbers to be sure, but for a car with a starting price of $119k, it is unheard of. It should be noted that Car & Driver took the big wing off the back to get the best time at The Texas Mile. With the wing, the ZR1 hit 180mph. All that down
Stunning, original L-82 Corvette Pace Car with only 879 miles!
As most Corvette aficionados know by now, the ’78 Corvette Indy Pace car is credited with starting the Corvette speculation market. The ’78 was the first Corvette to ever pace the Indy 500. So naturally, the boys at GM wanted to cook up something special for race day.
Originally, the plan was to build a very limited number of Pace Car replica’s to sell to the buying public. The initial amount was to be 300 to commemorate the ’53 Corvette’s production run. They would all have special paint, interior, and other modifications. Even the tires were going to be exclusive to the Pace Car! But after doing some calculating, the bean counters decided that some of the mods were going to be too expensive
