Martin Milner and George Maharis rode a sleek, low-slung, long-hooded Chevrolet Corvette, wandering from episode to episode in the popular early-1960s series “Route 66.”

Jan and Dean and the Beach Boys sang about the archetypal sports car. Later, Prince did as well in “Little Red Corvette.”

Movies associated with fast cars have also long showed off Corvettes, from the James Bond film “Live and Let Die” to “Furious 7.”

“Corvettes were everything,” recalled Larry Lewis, who owns Corvettes and Performance Specialties in East Amherst. “If you were a Chevy guy, Corvettes were the ultimate.”

Until now, the Buffalo Transportation Pierce-Arrow  Museum didn’t have one in its permanent collection of historic automobiles.

But that has all changed.

Four Corvettes revered by car buffs and worth a combined $6.3 million have been donated to the museum by the Yager Family Collection of Effingham, Ill.

Well, it seems we are able to officially call it. We do our best in the business to not jump to any major conclusions surrounding spy photos, future product and stay frosty overall. But, the latest batch of spy photos provides near confirmation the prototype Corvettes we’ve seen for months are, in fact, the 2018 C7 Corvette ZR1.

Upon inspection to some more up close and personal spy photos, the “ZR1” logo can be seen embossed into the five-spoke, star-pattern wheels. The C7 Corvette ZR1 has been wearing these wheels since it was first spotted, along with the blue brake calipers we considered a nod to the C6 Corvette ZR1, or the “blue devil.” So, there you have it, it’s a ZR1, folks.

Briefly, it was considered the 2018 C7 Corvette ZR1 may actually be a C7 Z06X, a factory prepped track package to the Z06 itself. There’s also the precedent put in place by [...]

The license plate of the white Chevy Corvette read “Culnane,” and police say that Kevin Cullinane was the man behind the wheel in two different accidents Saturday night.

Witnesses to the second crash, in Manchester, detained the New Boston man when he tried to leave the scene, police said. That accident took place at 283 Varney St, at 7:22 p.m.

At 7:15 p.m., Goffstown police responded to a hit-and-run accident involving two vehicles near Cumberland Farms, at Main Street and Mountain Road.

Witnesses told police a late-model Chevrolet Corvette took off after the crash, heading east on Mast Road.

As Manchester police responded to the crash near where Mast Road intersects with Varney Street, Goffstown officials alerted them to the earlier accident.

Manchester police learned from witnesses that the Corvette was traveling at a high rate of speed and weaving through traffic southwesterly on Mast Road when it struck the other vehicle, pushing it into [...]

A drag racer got a nasty surprise when the outlaw Corvette dragster he was driving took to the air at over 200 mph in Oklahoma.

According to Motor1, driver Daniel Pharris was at the controls of Alepa Racing’s eye-wateringly powerful 4,000 horsepower twin-turbo C7 during the Radial Revenge Tour at Tulsa Raceway Park on April 1. He was up against an equally ridiculously powerful Camaro in the semifinals of the 1/8-mile competition, and everything was looking great for the widebody Vette. Within seconds of launch, however, everything went sideways.

As they left the starting line, both cars lifted their noses off the ground. But while the Camaro settled down and soldiered on down the track, the C7 just kept lifting. Eventually, aerodynamics got the better of things, the front clip tore away, and the car took to the air. It flew over the center line of the track and crashed into the other lane, [...]
