C8 Corvette

Citing a dealer bulletin, the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette is about to get a bit more expensive. CorvetteBlogger reports that a $2,000 increase is being applied to the base price.

Per the report, the price increase came into effect on October 2, so customers placing new orders will be subject to the new pricing structure. As a result, the Stingray 1LT Coupe will be priced at $68,300, while the 2LT and 3LT Coupes will set buyers back $75,400 and $80,050, respectively. The Convertible option adds another $7,000 to these prices.

The high-performance Z06 is also getting an increase. The 1LZ Coupe has increased from $106,395 to $110,100, the 2LZ Coupe is now $119,000, and the 3LZ Coupe is now $123,650. The Convertible Z06 option adds another $7,000 to these prices.

Person Gets Trapped in Corvette

A Florida man was at a gas station in his C7 Corvette convertible and got stuck in his car when the electric door release didn’t work. Instead of using the manual door release, he used his cell phone to call the police to get help freeing himself from inside the car. He obviously didn’t know about the manual door release located on the floor next to both the driver and passenger doors.

Eventually, Florida firefighters showed up, and before taking extreme measures, they tried to jump the car but broke the passenger window to free the man.

The C8 Is Not A Dune Buggy

The C8 is a very versatile automobile. It is just as good at driving to the grocery market as it is doing a full track day. But one thing it could improve at is driving on soft sand!

The incident occurred at Pismo Beach on California’s Central Coast. It’s the only coastal beach in California to be legally driven on, making it a popular spot for weekend getaways. Typically, folks drive 4×4 trucks, quads, and motorcycles onto the sand, but one person thought it wise to drive their Corvette near the waterline and get thoroughly stuck.

The video shows the Corvette stuck to its frame, its rear wheels spinning helplessly. A crowd gathered around, trying to free it from the rising tide. In the video, it looked dire for the ‘Vette, with the tide licking the passenger side of the car. But not

C8 awards and build numbers

Corvette Video Update from
National Corvette Product
Manager, Harlan Charles

At last weekend’s 29th Anniversary Celebration at the National Corvette Museum, Corvette Blogger recorded Harlan Charles’s talk on the C8. During the presentation, Harlan discussed the awards the C8 has won and the production number for the 2023 model year.

Harlan shared a graphic showing that as of June, there were 53,448 total Corvettes completed and sequenced for production. Harlan says, “It’s not the total final, but close to it,” and he states that it will be the highest year of production of the Corvette ever at Bowling Green Assembly.

The St. Louis assembly plant still holds the record for most Corvettes produced in a year at 53,807. The old record for Bowling Green came during the extended 1984 model year with 51,547 Corvettes produced. The 2023 model year production totals will also go down
