Bluetooth may be annoying and result in difficulties for both parties to hear and understand what is being said, but it beats a car crash… Plenty of states have banned using a cellphone without a hands-free device, but many drivers in these states continue to ignore the law. Corvette Blogger reported a recent incident in El Cajon, California, just a few miles east of San Diego, where a C6 Corvette lodged itself underneath a Dodge Neon. In this case, witnesses claimed that driver of the white C6 was talking on the cellphone and failed to notice the taupe colored Neon in front of it. One passerby snapped a picture of the calamity and sent it to the local NBC station in San Diego. It is easy for some to forget the meaning of Memorial Day. For me, it is a sacred day of remembrance, for I have served our great country in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the mid-1970’s. Memorial Day is a day to honor and thank all those who have served in the military, in times of war and peace. We remember all of those who have died in military service, more than 400,000 in World War II, more than 30,000 in Korea, more than 50,000 in Vietnam. Earlier this month, the number of U.S. military deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan since the horrific day of Sept. 11, 2001, exceeded 6,000. Nearly 50,000 U.S. military service members have been wounded, although that number is likely to be revised upward.

Thank you so much to the Corvette Mike friends and family for your support in locating Danielle. She was found today, she is safe and sound. Her parents are not releasing any details at this time, but we’re thankful she’s been found and going to be reunited with her family.

Danielle Stitzel has been missing from Big Bear Since April 26, 2011. She is age 16, 5’3″ tall, blonde hair and blue eyes.

Danielle was last seen at Meadow Park in Big Bear Lake California at 4:15 pm Tuesday April 26. She was wearing a black sweatshirt, black jacket, blue jeans and black shoes.  She may be trying to travel to Anaheim or Los Angeles, possibly via MetroLink.
