Corvette Goes Global, But Not Here: Japan Gets Exclusive C8 Special Editions

Corvette enthusiasts rejoice with a hint of disappointment! Chevrolet has unveiled two stunning limited-edition C8 Corvettes, the CERV I and Heritage, but there’s a catch – they’re exclusive to Japan.

CERV I: A Blast from the Past:
The CERV I pays tribute to the 1959 Chevrolet Experimental Research Vehicle (CERV), the visionary single-seater that paved the way for the Corvette’s mid-engine revolution. It boasts a head-turning Silver Flare Metallic exterior with bold blue stripes, echoing its historical inspiration.

Heritage Edition: A Timeless Classic:
The Heritage Edition throws it back to the very beginning, honoring the legendary 1953 C1 Corvette. A sophisticated Seawolf dark gray exterior sets the stage, accented by vibrant Edge Yellow brake calipers and sharp 20-inch five double-spoke wheels.

Modern Muscle Meets Classic Charm:
Both special editions seamlessly blend tradition with modern flair. Bespoke interior touches complete the package, creating a captivating fusion of Corvette’s heritage and contemporary design.

Own a Piece of Corvette History (If You’re in Japan):
Under the hood sits a powerful 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine, ensuring these Corvettes are exhilarating to drive. With production limited to just 40 units (20 CERV I and 20 Heritage), these special editions offer an exclusive opportunity to own a piece of Corvette history. Corvette’s timeless allure takes center stage, but unfortunately, only for car enthusiasts in Japan.

Wayne W’s 1966 Convertible

Circa: 1977- photo: Purchased this ’66 in E .Akron Ohio in 1973 for $1800 cash. Front bumpers were off, golf clubs in pass. seat. Nicks, scratches, but never crashed. Owner blew the original 427″/425 up. Sitting in place was a 396″. Ran ok and sounded good thru the side pipes. [3.70 gear]. Drove it as it was for 3 years. Booth Arons Engines, Berkley, Mi. went thru engine. [yes, I wanted a #’s match 427 but that exercise would have been way more $$]  Rummpy’ cam, 10.5 – 1 compression, 3 angle valve job, #3310 Holley [was HOLLEY Tech rep 10 years. Moved to Mi] Build improved performance! Looked the part. 427 / 425 decal on air cleaner always bothered me, but not enough to take it off! Repaint [great job] detailed – enjoyed ’til sold 1982 [$10,500] down payment on Rochester Mi. home. Stll crying every night. Had a ’91 for 2 years. Maybe another Corvette one day.
