Featured Car of the Week: 1969 Shelby GT350 Fastback Coupe Gulfstream Aqua Metallic
Gulfstream Aqua w/White interior, 351/290hp, automatic transmission.
By the end of the ’60’s increasing insurance premiums and the rising cost of gas meant that high performance cars were getting harder to own. And by 1971 it was clear to those in the know that the end of the muscle car as we knew it was just over the horizon. However, there were still a few very good years left before the end of high performance (for the time being). The Big Three were pumping out muscle in all shapes and sizes. Ford was right in there with the Mustang. And If you wanted the ultimate Mustang, Carroll Shelby was happy to oblige with the GT350 and GT500.
This beautiful GT350 has benefited from a repaint in stunning Gulfstream Aqua Metallic, but is otherwise very original and features an original Deluxe interior in White knitted vinyl that perfectly complements the exterior color. The correct 351 Windsor V-8 has been rebuilt as has the original 4bbl carburetor. The chassis is in excellent unrestored condition with the shifter bushings, u-joints, suspension bushings, belts and hoses all having been replaced. Options include, power front disc brakes, power steering, 3.25 Traction-Loc rear axle, AM radio, 3-spoke Sport steering wheel, radial tires w/Shelby alloy wheels, Shelby seat belt buckles, multi-point front seat restraints, roll bar, original Space-Saver spare tire that has never been mounted or inflated and to top it off, Carroll Shelby’s signature on the glove box! Original Owner’s Kit and Deluxe Marti Report are included. This is a true survivor and a Shelby that every muscle car collector or aficionado would want to own. Don’t miss your opportunity! Stk #5873
