LeMans Blue w/Silver stripes and Black interior. 350/405hp 6-spd. manual transaxle.
When the fifth generation Corvette was introduced in ’97, all of us were hoping an even higher performance version would not be far behind. Well, it took 5 years, but the awesome ZO6 finally arrived for the ’01 model year. The “2nd generation” ZO6 was the namesake of the high performance ’63 fuelie. When you ordered the C5 version, you got the 346ci LS6 engine, which pumped out 385hp, a heavy duty 6-spd manual transaxle, a titanium exhaust system (a first for Corvette and the first time Titanium had been used in a mass-production application), special suspension, special wheels shod with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires, mesh front grille inserts, exclusive seat design and much more! In ’02 hp was bumped up to 405 and remained that way until the end of the model run, which came to an end in ’04.
To mark the end of the run, a special edition was introduced. The ’04 Commemorative Edition ZO6 came only on LeMans Blue interior. But what set this package apart on the ZO6 with the addition of a carbon fiber hood! This was the first time such a hood was available on a Corvette and it was 10lbs lighter than the standard hood. Special dual Silver and Red stripes were also part of the Pkg. Additional features included polished aluminum wheels.
This impressive example is just about showroom new with only 5k miles on the odometer! It came to us from AZ. and it’s been babied since it rolled out of Bowling Green!
