ZR1 Hits A Top Speed Average Of 233 MPH
Chevrolet just dropped a full video of the 2025 Corvette ZR1 hitting an average of 233 MPH at the ATP track in Papenburg, Germany. Behind the wheel was GM President Mark Reuss, who credited the car’s engineering and preparation for the impressive run. Reuss kept the ZR1 in Sport Mode, pushing it to the 8,000 RPM redline in 6th gear. The two-direction top-speed run clocked in at 233.08 MPH and 233.50 MPH, averaging 233 MPH. Chevrolet proudly claims it’s the fastest production car under $1 million, achieved with a standard ZR1—no special modifications, just the stock chassis, aero package, and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. “Setting this record was a surreal experience,” Reuss said. “The mid-engine design made this possible, and it’s a true testament to the ZR1’s power and the incredible team behind it.” |

I have owned Corvettes continually for 54 years!
Upon graduating from medical school in 1969, I purchased my first car: a 1969 Monza Red Corvette Stingray at Baher Chevrolet in Northridge, CA. ($5927.50). This was a unique car because it had the RPO L36 427cu, 390 hp engine paired to the Turbo Hydra-Matic Automatic Transmission (80% of Corvettes that year had a manual transmission). The car did not come with the factory side exhaust option (a one-year-only option) but I added the side exhausts after acquiring the car. I sold the car in 1974 and have never seen an identical car for sale. Rusty |

Why do we press harder on the remote when we know the batteries are dead? Do penguins ever get cold, or are they just like, “Eh, it’s fine”? Why is the word “abbreviation” so long? |
