And 1000-HP Zora Hybrid

Based on the May 2023 Issue of Car and Driver, the C8 ZR-1 and the C8 Zora are in the works. The ZR-1 is expected to be a twin-turbo version of its screaming flatplane-crank V-8 currently in the Z06. The Zora will take it one step further and add in the E-Ray’s electrification!
It is estimated that the ZR-1 will have 800-HP driving the rear wheels and the Zora will have 1,000-HP and AWD.
The untold story of the C8 was to ultimately go for the throat of Lamborghinis, McLarens, or anything with the word “hypercar” or “exotic” in its dating profile. Those whispers will become a reality in the next couple of years with the arrival of two ultra-high-performance Corvettes: the ZR-1 and the Zora.
The ZR-1 is rumored to be released in 2025 with the Zora coming sometimes afterwards. Both the ZR-1 and the Zora are expected to incorporate active aerodynamic elements, such as a rear wing and a front splitter, and offer a Z07-style track package. Though the ZR-1’s weight will presumably rise by about 200 pounds over a Z06 due to its new turbo componentry and greater powertrain-cooling requirements, it will be the quickest Corvette around a racetrack while remaining as comfortable on the street as a Z06. Its performance will put it in contention with everything from the McLaren 750S to the Porsche 911 Turbo S. But its base price is estimated to be around $150,000 and will severely undercut competitors by tens or even hundreds of thousands. The hypercar Zora is estimated to flirt with a starting price of around $200,000, or about $140,000 less than a McLaren 750S.

This very nice 928S came to us from an owner up in OR. The unusual exterior of Kiln Red is one we haven’t seen before, and it complements the lines of the car quite well.
