When you go to test drive a car, there is a general understanding you might give the car a little gas, but you’re not gonna go crazy. After all, you are not the current owner of the car, and thus there is a common courtesy to return each vehicle you test in good condition. Apparently guy in the video below didn’t get the memo; as you can see, he completely totals a Porsche 911 Turbo during what was purportedly a test drive.

As you can see via the CCTV, the Porsche in question goes into a corner at a high rate of speed and begins to brake, causing the back end to kick out. In doing so, the Porsche travels into the opposite lane and collides with an oncoming car. The collision caused the Porsche to do a 180-degree spin, eventually coming to a rest around 50 yards later. Due to the extreme amount [...]

Did you want to see how a Corvette is made? Well you have until June 16th to do it, or you will have to wait 18 months before you get another chance. According to the National Corvette Museum website, factory tours will be suspended for 18 months.

The explanation for stopping the tours is that the facility’s new paint shop, which has been under construction since 2015, and at a cost of $439 million, is about to be completed and integrated with existing manufacturing line. This will force a new tour route for future visitors. GM has also invested another $290 million for undisclosed retooling and upgrades. The plant itself will also go totally idle for three months beginning in August, coming back online in October.

Of course, the rumored reason for the shutdown is for retooling for the Mid-Engine C8 Corvette. The new rumored date for announcing the C8 is at the LA Auto [...]

Martin Milner and George Maharis rode a sleek, low-slung, long-hooded Chevrolet Corvette, wandering from episode to episode in the popular early-1960s series “Route 66.”

Jan and Dean and the Beach Boys sang about the archetypal sports car. Later, Prince did as well in “Little Red Corvette.”

Movies associated with fast cars have also long showed off Corvettes, from the James Bond film “Live and Let Die” to “Furious 7.”

“Corvettes were everything,” recalled Larry Lewis, who owns Corvettes and Performance Specialties in East Amherst. “If you were a Chevy guy, Corvettes were the ultimate.”

Until now, the Buffalo Transportation Pierce-Arrow  Museum didn’t have one in its permanent collection of historic automobiles.

But that has all changed.

Four Corvettes revered by car buffs and worth a combined $6.3 million have been donated to the museum by the Yager Family Collection of Effingham, Ill.

“I’m pinching myself,” said [...]

Well, it seems we are able to officially call it. We do our best in the business to not jump to any major conclusions surrounding spy photos, future product and stay frosty overall. But, the latest batch of spy photos provides near confirmation the prototype Corvettes we’ve seen for months are, in fact, the 2018 C7 Corvette ZR1.

Upon inspection to some more up close and personal spy photos, the “ZR1” logo can be seen embossed into the five-spoke, star-pattern wheels. The C7 Corvette ZR1 has been wearing these wheels since it was first spotted, along with the blue brake calipers we considered a nod to the C6 Corvette ZR1, or the “blue devil.” So, there you have it, it’s a ZR1, folks.

Briefly, it was considered the 2018 C7 Corvette ZR1 may actually be a C7 Z06X, a factory prepped track package to the Z06 itself. There’s also the precedent put in place by [...]
