Torch Red w/Black interior, 350/300hp, 6-spd manual transmission.
The C4 entered its penultimate year of production in ’95. With 12 years of development, the 4th generation had gone from being a very advanced Corvette with some teething issues to the best Corvette built up to that point. car by the mid ’90’s. Although body changes were minimal, advancement in drivetrain and suspension were many. The biggest complaints of the early cars were their ride, which was on the harsh side. The engineers at Bowling Green were determined to have the new C4 corner at 1g. It did, but with some sacrifices in ride comfort. The complaints were heard loud and clear and subsequent years some vast improvement in that dept. But that wasn’t all that improved. In ’92, a new engine was introduced in the Corvette. Christened LT-1 in honor of the high-performance small block of [...]
Tuxedo Black w/Red interior, 427/400hp, automatic.
If you look at Corvette as a whole, from ’53 to ’69. Many would acknowledge that 1969 was the peak year as far as shear performance. Sure, the mid-years (’63-’67) were legendary. And yes, there were a couple good years left after ’69 (’70-’72 LT1 and the LS6 of ’71 come to mind). But, by 1971 the writing was clearly on the wall that the horsepower wars were over (at least for the time being) and the federal government and the insurance companies had won. However, if you were lucky enough to be of legal driving age and had the $green$ to afford one back in ’69, you had a treasure trove of fantastic performance options to choose from! The teething pains of the new “Shark” bodied ’68 had been worked out. And the ’69 presented the perfect low-slung, great [...]

Daytona Yellow w/Black interior, L68 427/400hp, 4-spd manual transmission.
We here at Corvette Mike are always on the hunt for great cars. Whether they be late model, low mile examples or a rare and unique vintage muscle car. We never know what might turn up or be offered to us. But, we have to admit, the rare and unique pieces are our favorites! So, we were especially stoked when this Daytona Yellow ’69 was presented to us! The ’69 is looked back on fondly and considered one of, if not the most desirable of the third generation Corvettes.
The C3 or “Shark” bodied cars were introduced a year earlier in ’68 and they were instant hits! Though almost identical to the previous generation C2’s underneath, the C3’s were all new topside! The Mako Shark II/Manta-Ray inspired body was sleek from end to end with a lower center of gravity than [...]
