GM President of North America Mark Reuss kicked off the Chevrolet press conference during last week’s L.A. International Auto Show. The main announcement was that people could now drive the C7 Corvette virtually on Sony PlayStation’s Gran Turismo 5, it seems that no one noticed some of his remarks about the next-gen Corvette:
2012 is turning out to be another great year for Chevrolet… and 2013 promises to be even bigger. We’ll be launching 13 new models next year — including the all-new Silverado and Impala.
It all starts January 13th when we introduce the next generation Corvette in Detroit.
All I can tell you right now is that the new Corvette will offer an entirely new driving experience – one that’s refined, and redefined. Trenton High School students began working on a yellow 1980 Chevy Corvette in the 2011-12 school year and restoration has been a long and bumpy ride.

In 2011, Vietnam veteran Jim Schneider, 68, of Taylor, got tired of watching his beloved yellow 1980 Chevy Corvette waste away in the garage. At about the same time, Trenton High School principal Michael Doyle began searching for a project car for the automotive technology students at the high school.
Doyle mentioned to his uncle, Schneider, the district lacked the funding to purchase a vehicle for students to work on. Before Doyle said another word, Schneider offered up his prized Corvette.
Now in the second year of restoration, automotive technology students at Trenton High School are in the driver’s seat of a restoration project that has proved to be a long and bumpy ride.
