Bob Bondurant, a former champion race car driver who opened a high-performance driving school in 1968 and taught numerous A-list actors for their movie roles, died last Friday in the Phoenix suburb of Paradise Valley at age 88.
Bondurant taught stunt driving, competition driving, police pursuit driving, evasive driving for chauffeurs and bodyguards, and other skills. Among the celebrities Bondurant instructed in road course driving for their movie roles, were Paul Newman, Tom Cruise, Clint Eastwood, James Garner, Nicolas Cage, Robert Wagner, Tim Allen and Christian Bale, according to the website.

Jay Leno gets the privilege to be the first non-GM employee to drive the 2023 C8 Z06. As Chevrolet hasn’t yet allowed any other journalist to do anything more than walk around the Z06, this is the first independent report we have had about how the car drives.
This is not the first time Chevrolet has let Jay be the first to drive a new Corvette. He was also allowed to drive a C8 around the blimp hanger when it was first revealed.
Not only was Jay allowed to drive the new Z06, Chevrolet sent Aaron Link, lead development engineer of the Corvette Z06, to discuss the development and more technical aspects of the car. The specs for the new Z06 motor, named the “LT6,” are out and history is repeating itself. Just like moving the motor to the center of the car, it was time to dramatically reconfigure the engine design. So, for just the 2nd time in Corvette history, power will be provided by a Dual Over Head Cam (DOHC) motor with 4-valves per cylinder.
The Z06 moniker is known for upgrading the standard Corvette into a track-ready racer, while still being dependable as a daily driver. The new 2023 C8 Z06 is ready to follow in these footsteps.
