There has been a lot of press lately about the base C8 Corvette selling for less money than it takes Chevrolet to produce, and possibly using the Corvette brand name on an SUV. In a Motor Trend article, Mary Barra, the chairman and CEO of General Motors, talks about these subjects. When Barra was asked if a low starting price of the C8 could be maintained or if the price is likely to jump, she said "What I think is really important is Chevrolet is a home for Corvette and Chevrolet is American, and it's value, it's ingenuity," Barra said. "I think all of that is captured." Corvette, despite being an iconic sports car, "represents all that Chevrolet means, and part of that is, I think, that it is obtainable. So, I think we will work really hard to make sure that we always live true to the Chevrolet brand, which is American, it's value, it's ingenuity." What about making Corvette its own brand or a subbrand like Ford is doing with Mustang? "I think you have to be really careful because you have to understand what makes the brand the brand," Barra told us. "So, I'm not going to say never, but I think if General Motors were to ever do anything, we would assess it very, very carefully.” "Corvette means something so special to so m [...]

Michael ‘Corvette Mike’ Vietro had seen Chevy Corvette cars all his life as a kid while pumping gas on Revere Beach Parkway, or sitting on the wall by the Shute Library as the show-cars drove down Broadway, likely headed to Revere Beach.

But it wasn’t until 1978 in California that the Everett native got behind the wheel of his own Corvette, pushed on the gas, and changed his life forever.

“I got my first Corvette, it was mocha colored, and I was driving that brand new Corvette and all the sudden my life changed,” he said. “I was shaking. I was obsessed. From that one car in that moment, I built Corvette Mike. That car was life-changing. I had to do something that day. I wasn’t a mechanic, so I couldn’t work on the cars. But I could be a showman for

Anaheim, CA–Last month, Corvette Mike, the leading preowned Corvette and classic car dealership for more than 38 years, announced that he had acquired the holy grail of all Corvettes in 2018: the only 1967 L88 Coupe with its original engine. Now, Mike and his partners are offering the L88 for sale at $3.95 million.

After lengthy discussions and a bit of old fashion arm twisting, Mike convinced his two partners, who are the majority stakeholders, to enter the car into the frenzied collector car market to find the only guy that has everything in his collection except the pinnacle of all Corvette Stingrays. There is no other! Exclusivity has its bragging rights!!!

The C8 is still months away from release and the rumor mill is going strong about the new ZR1! It was just July of this year Chevrolet announced the C8, and then the C8 Convertible. The independent magazine reviews didn’t get released until this month, with the C8 getting Car and Driver's 10Best title. But now that the C8 is old news, the rumor mill is a buzz about the C8 ZR1, not sure what happened to the C8 Z06. These rumors are said to come from high-placed sources that talked to Motor Trend, and if the rumors are to be believed, the new ZR1 will be electrified and produce over 900hp combined. The power will come from a twin turbo V8, between 4.2L and 5.5L, powering the back tires, and a 115hp (over 880 lb-ft) electric motor powering the front tires. The front-mounted electric motor would increase performance and even perform torque vectoring to better aid the rear axle's electronically controlled limited-slip differential. This configuration offers numerous benefits, such as improved handling and the ability to put down more power while exiting corners.!
