One man is hospitalized in the accident that occurred Monday night

March 5, 2013

A man was hospitalized today after the Corvette he was driving rear-ended and became stuck beneath a box truck on the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway in the Sepulveda Pass.

The crash was reported at 11:10 p.m. Monday near Getty Center Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Firefighters pulled the Corvette from beneath the truck and took the driver, who was conscious throughout the rescue, to a hospital with non-life- threatening injuries, Los Angeles Fire Department Capt. Steve Berkery told a news photographer at the scene.

The crash shut down all but one southbound lane of the freeway, the photographer said.
