This flawless ’65 Stingray received a N.C.R.S. Top Flight Award after a complete body-off restoration utilizing all new OEM correct numbered parts. The numbers matching engine was an L79 327/350hp and was completely rebuilt. After many awards and numerous shows, it was time for a change, going from Top Flight to a Pro Touring car. Now it was time to choose and purchase the right parts for this complete make over. For the drivetrain, a crate cammed LS3/480hp engine was chosen along with a Tremec five-speed transmission, and a nicely installed Procharger, that offered 699hp and 623ft-lb. Just to name a few of the other options; Steeroids steering package manufactured by Sharkbite and a four-wheel adjustable coil over suspension. Hydroboost braking system controls the Willwood brake calipers and rotors. Dual fuel pumps bring gas to the supercharged 699hp motor. 0 to 60mph is reported to be a little less the 4 seconds. It features an eight speaker sound system. A Dakota digital instrument panel was installed, which really completes the dash board. After sand blasting the car and completing the necessary body work, the car was primed, sealed and was now ready for a $40,000 urethane over water borne paint. After hours upon hours of wet sanding and polishing, the glaze and wax really gave it the mirror finish.
