1971 Brands Hatch Green Corvette LT-1 Convertible
Excellent, and very correct LT-1!Brands Hatch Green w/Saddle interior, 350/330hp LT-1, 4-speed manual transmission.
The early ’70’s were amazing times for sports and muscle car enthusiasts. The horsepower wars were reaching their peak! And just about any combination of performance was available to those of us who know what “RPO boxes to check at the local Chevy (or Ford, or Mopar) store.
If you were in the market for a new Corvette during this time, there were a number of ways to go. All excellent! From 350ci to 454ci. 3-speed automatic to heavy duty, close ratio 4-speed manuals. Suspension packages, multiple rear end gear choices, not to mention all of the comfort and convenience options. But let’s face it, most Corvette buyers just wanted to go fast! But between ’70-’72, there was a special Corvette that not only went fast but also handled like a race car! This very limited edition was called the LT-1. And when you ordered it, you got the last mechanical lifter, Holley carbureted, small block ever offered in a Corvette. A last hurrah for ’70’s performance.
The LT-1 was and is one of the best Corvettes ever built. It was a racing package for the street! But one that was very user friendly, and an absolute blast to drive!
The very correct example featured here in beautiful and unique Brands Hatch Green is one of the nicest we’ve seen in years!
