Lime Green w/Black interior, 351/266hp, 5-spd. manual transaxle.
Several modifications were made to the Pantera for the 1972 model year. A new 5.8 L (351 cu in) 4 Bolt Main Cleveland Engine, was used with lower compression ratio (from 11:1 to 8.6:1, chiefly to meet US emissions standards and run on lower octane standard fuel) but with the more aggressive “Cobra Jet” camshaft (featuring the same lift and duration as the 428 Cobra Jet‘s factory performance cam) in an effort to reclaim some of the power lost through the reduction in compression ratio along with a dual point distributor. Many other engine changes were made, including the use of a factory exhaust header.
This very sharp and unusual Pantera came to us from a local So. CA. collector. One of only 87 Lime Green Pantera’s built in ’72. This pre L chrome bumper example features a rebuilt #’s matching 351 Cleveland V-8 and 5-spd. manual ZF transaxle. Its been nicely restored and has been repainted in the correct, factory color in a durable base coat/clear coat. The interior is very original, with the exception of carpet and headliner. The miles are believed to be correct. All Pantera’s are eye catching. This one is just more so. Includes Marti Report.
