The last full year of production for the VW Beetle in the U.S. was 1979, but in South America, production continued for another 24 years!  And in Mexico, production would have continued if taxis hadn’t required 4-doors.

VW built 1,156,455 vehicles in 1979 but only 10,681 were Super Beetle cabriolets sold in the U.S.  Production actually totaled 15,253 Cabriolets but the remaining 4572 cars were sold in 1980. The price had risen to $6,800 and the final “Epilog Models” were triple black and cost an extra $200. These cars are fairly collectible today.

This triple white Beetle Convertible is in excellent shape throughout and has accumulated only 25k miles since new!  It’s a great runner and comes with chrome wheels wrapped in radial tires, stereo, service receipts, owner’s manual and a soft top boot.
