Dark Blue w/Blue interior, L82 350/225hp, 4-spd. manual transmission.
The ’79 was the highest production Corvette built up to that point with 53,807 units. You would think with that many cars produced there would be a multitude of pristine examples still on the road. Well, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Over the years, we’ve rejected many more ’79’s than we’ve selected for inventory. Most have been “ridden hard and put away wet”. However, there are exceptions to the rule. And this amazing Corvette Dark Blue Coupe is definitely one of them!
Any all-original vintage Corvette is a rarity. But this pristine example is just like going back in time to ’79, walking into Sam Cummins Chevrolet-Buick in Paris, KY. and laying your eyes on this time capsule! The car is absolutely beautiful! And with the exception of the original battery (included in the purchase), belts and hoses, it’s pretty much like it was 43 years ago. It still smells new inside and drives like a new ’79! Even the Goodyear Polysteel Radial tires are still mounted on the RPO N90 aluminum wheels! The factory window and E.P.A. stickers are still affixed to the passenger side glass! Adding to the car’s rarity is the highly desirable combo of the optional L82 engine mated up to an M21 close ratio 4-spd. manual transmission! Other options include air conditioning, power windows, Gymkhana suspension, 3.70 rear axle ratio, AM/FM stereo, tilt/tele steering column, carpeted floor mats and more! And the underside is just about as nice as the topside!
In addition, the car comes with one of the most comprehensive binders full of factory docs we’ve ever seen! Every bid of factory paperwork is there, including the build sheet dealer invoice, P.D.I. sheet, owner’s kit and so much more! There’s even a detailed milage log and a sheet documenting every time the car was waxed and detailed! And as if there needs to be any more bonuses, how about a Tripple Diamond Award? This car has won an N.C.R.S. Top Flight, Bloomington Gold and Chevy Vette Fest Gold Spinner Award! Quite an accomplishment for a truly outstanding Corvette!
Along with Disco, roller skates and pet rocks, the mid-seventies Sharks really defined the era. And for those of you wishing to travel back to those heady disco times when the world was maybe slightly more innocent, this is certainly the machine to do it in! So, throw on a pair of Jordache jeans or some spandex and clime on board!
