Red w/Red interior 350/190hp, 4-spd. manual transmission.
The ’81 holds the distinction of being the only Corvette that was built in two different plants at the same time. While the all-new Bowling Green plant was just getting underway in ’81, the tried and true St. Louis plant was just about to be shut down after producing “America’s Sports Car” since 1954! The difference between the St. Louis and Bowling Green cars was the paint method. While the old plant still used lacquer, the new plant used enamel two-stage base coat/clear coat finishes. The easiest way to tell the difference between the two is the St. Louis ’81’s are solid colors and the Bowling Green cars are two-tone.
This ’81 is rare for a number of reasons. It has a (St. Louis) color combo of Red w/Red interior, is a 4-spd. manual, and its all-original and beautiful with only 13k miles on the odometer! You can see from the photos that this car was babied from new. It’s in excellent condition throughout with an interior that hardly looks sat in! It’s starts, runs and drives like a “new” ’81! Options include; mirrored glass roof panels, am/fm 8-track stereo, aluminum wheels and more!
