Polo Green w/Saddle interior, LT5 350/375hp, 6-spd. manual transmission.
To say that the ZR-1 was a sensation when it made debut as a ’90 would be an understatement, to say the least! The first honest to goodness Corvette supercar came to be as a result of a design partnership between Corvette and Lotus white designed the truly exotic LT5 twin cam V8. And Mercury Marine who built the engine at their Stillwater OK. plant. This was the first and only time an engine of this type had ever been put into America’s Sports Car. And the results were startling! World endurance record were set! Some still stand to this day! This was and has remained once very special ZR-1.
And some ZR-1’s are much more special than others. Case in point. This Polo Green Metallic ’90 displayed here. Most of us were not part of the lucky few who were able to walk into a Chevy dealer, put their money down and drive off with a brand new ZR-1 32 years ago. Many missed out on this unique opportunity. However, for those of us who never quite got over it, we’ve got something very special for you . . .
This featured ’90 is just about a “new” and example as you will ever find. So much so, that it’s new had its P.D.I. (Pre-Delivery Inspection). The plastic is still on the seats, the paper mats are still on the floor, and it still smell new when you get behind the wheel! Even the rubber door edge guards are still in place! The original Goodyear ZR rated Gatorback’s are still mounted on the turbine fined aluminum wheels. And there is only 44 original miles on the odometer of this time capsule. It comes with every piece of original paperwork and document, including the “Pizza Box” with the plastic wrapping still intact!
Another amazing find by Corvette Mike!
