Pebble Beach 2019 Leno

Your Guide to Pebble Beach Automotive Week

Every great collector car has a story, and that story is often filled with fascinating people — those who first dreamed of and built it, those who originally raced it or showed it at early auto shows or concours, and those who have carefully preserved it or worked to restore or even resurrect it.

The Pebble Beach Classic Car Forum offers enthusiasts the opportunity to meet and learn from the people behind the world’s greatest cars.

Held annually in concert with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the Forum draws together car designers, racing greats and other heroes of the automotive world to discuss the latest car trends and hot topics, as well as the challenges and joys related to their passion for cars. The mix of personalities and perspectives can lead to the unexpected. And the audience has the opportunity to eavesdrop on their conversations!

Announcing 2019 Forum Sessions

This year Hurley Haywood and Patrick Dempsey talk Porsche racing in a session moderated by Spike Feresten; Jay Leno and Donald Osborne look at replicas, re-creations and revivals, asking “When Should What’s Gone Stay Gone?”; Wayne Carini, Chip Foose, the Moal brothers and Andy Leach focus on “Coachbuilders of the Future”; Pulitzer-Prize winner Paul Ingrassia interviews John Elkann and Miles Collier about family legacies; and Adam Carolla regales everyone with his own car tales. Additional sessions will discuss Japanese Collector Cars, Hot Rod Cover Cars, industry trends and the next generation of restorers.

The Forum, which is sponsored by AIG and BridgePoint, begins on Thursday, August 15, and continues through Saturday, August 17, at The Inn at Spanish Bay. Most sessions are free to the public (there is a small fee for a few featured sessions) but seats are limited and reservations are required.

The full Forum schedule is available here.

Pebble Beach RetroAuto

Pebble Beach RetroAuto, hosting a wide array of international vendors offering quality auto-inspired items, is just steps away from the Forum sessions at The Inn at Spanish Bay. There, enthusiasts will find rare automobilia as well as the latest luxury goods from merchants hailing from Germany, England, France and Hong Kong as well as the United States.

The full list of RetroAuto vendors is available here.

Announcing the First Pebble Beach Concours Sketchbattle Pro

This year, for the first time ever, Pebble Beach will host a Sketchbattle for new and aspiring automotive designers—as well as individuals who hope to become one.

The Pebble Beach Concours Sketchbattle Pro will take place Friday, August 16, beginning at 5:30 pm in our Forum venue. You can register to attend the Sketchbattle here. Individuals hoping to be Sketchbattle contestants should contact Brook Banham at Brook@Middlecott.com.

Sketchbattle Pro is a live automotive sketching competition staged in front of an audience. Sometimes referred to as The Fight Club of Design, Sketchbattle pits the world’s best designers against each other in head-to-head competition for high stakes prizes and the coveted title of Sketchmaster. Sketchbattle Pro is the highest level of the Middlecott Sketchbattle Competition, which also includes team events for art and design schools and Sketchbattle Jr., and education initiative to develop design skills among teenagers.
